RV owners are always open to great ideas for RV bathroom storage ideas. Since available space in a small bathroom fills quickly, we are always looking for ways to best utilize the small space available,
Common, everyday items like a shoe organizer and a soap dispenser may not take up much space, but they do consume a certain amount- even before you put shoes or soap in them. And in a small camper, every extra space you can free up becomes additional storage space and helps with your RV bathroom organization.

Take Stock of Current RV Bathroom Storage
Evaluate Current Bathroom Items
A great way to begin is by making a list of everything in your RV bathroom. It seems like a small space- and it is, but there is already a lot there. Don’t leave anything out of your list, toilet paper holder, towel bar, even the inside of your cabinet door should be included in your inventory.
Evaluate Everything that Needs Storing
Begin step 2 by taking everything out of your small RV bathroom and laying each item out in one area. Use your bed or if there is room on your table, use that. This is an easy way to thoroughly clean the space as well as look at the bathroom through a different lens. Plus unnecessary duplication will come to light.
You will develop a sense of available space- both usable and unusable when you look at everything critically. Ask yourself questions about shelving, baskets, hooks, and storage bags so you can begin to have a feel for ways to maximize your space.
Be creative if you can. Look at the towel holder like you might use a closet rod but use shower curtain clips to suspend storage bags or baskets instead of clothes hangers. If you think it through, this space can still drape your towel over the whole kit and kaboodle.
Choose Your Type of Organization for RV Bathroom Storage
Organize Items By Categories
By General Area
I prefer to group like and similar items before I stage them in their new areas. Some of your things should be stored together. Naturally, your contact lens storage container should be on the same shelf or container as your contact lens solution.
By Size
You might choose to just lay everything on the bed from largest to smallest and begin by placing a small number of the largest items in their new homes.
By frequency of use
Sorting the items by how often you use them lets you put the most used items where they are easiest reached. Those that are used infrequently can be relegated to those harder-to-reach places. Additionally, those items that you only use for rare occasions, can be completely relocated or left at home completely.
Other Organizational Strategies for Better RV Bathroom Storage
Relocate Some Items to Other Locations
Your infrequently used space hogs may be better placed in the storage under the bed or the top of a closet. Keeping large quantities of toilet paper in the bathroom makes sense in a large sticks-and-bricks home. However, in an RV, storing rolls and rolls of extra tp takes up too much space.
Purchase With RV Bathroom Storage In Mind
It is oftentimes a good idea to avoid shopping for bulk supplies. Small items take up a little space and large items consume a lot of space.
Most full-time RVers would rather pay the extra cost and replenish supplies than allocate additional space in storage cabinets. This strategy does take extra planning and mindfulness, but after a while, it becomes second nature.
Tips & Strategies to Make the Most Out of RV Bathroom Storage
- Roll your clean towels and keep them in a wine rack (These work especially well with microfiber towels (beach towels) and rags; they are smaller, more absorbant, and dry faster)
- Use shower curtain hooks
- on the towel bar to hang bulky items like your hair dryer
- Mount spice racks on the wall and remove your toothbrush holder
- Place a Lazy Susan in the bathroom cabinet under the lavatory
- Use Command Hooks to hold storage baskets
- Attach suction cups to the shower wall to hold a shower caddy and accessories
- Purchase a magnetic strip or magnetic board to hold small stuff like nail clippers and bobby pins
- Shelf baskets can keep shampoo bottles within easy reach
- A tension rod or even shower rods placed near the ceiling can take the place of a towel rack
- Free up counter space and use wall space by storing smaller items in a hanging organizer
- Keep your infrequently used space hogs under the bathroom sink or completely relocate to other storage areas
*Many of the items listed can be purchased from the Dollar Store, but I prefer going through Amazon for most things. I like the convenience of delivery and typically I can get a little bit better quality for some items.
By its very nature and size, good organization is a must for anyone living in an RV. Hopefully, some of these RV bathroom storage ideas will help you make the most out of the small but vital room.
